Cecilia Clara Zehler was born October 11, 18852, in Bennington, New York, the tenth child of Charles Zehler and Mary Backe. Her earliest years were spent on the family farm in Bennington. At a young age, however, her family moved to Warsaw, New York, following her father retirement from farming. On October 10, 1909, Cecilia married Clayton O'Dell Gallett at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church in Warsaw160. Clayton was born August 6, 187618, the son of Bradley N. Gallett and Mary Norton.
In 1900, as a young man of 23, Clayton worked as a meat salesman, along with his father143, beginning a long career as a businessman and public servant. After their marriage, Clayton and Cecilia settled in Warsaw and the 1910 Census144 characterizes Clayton as a livestock speculator. Clayton continued as a livestock dealer into the 1930's146. In later years, he also worked as an auctioneer and real estate dealer166. Clayton's was also active in civic affairs. From 1919 to 1921, he served as Mayor of the Village of Warsaw and from 1933, to 1935, he was Sheriff of Wyoming County166.
Clayton died on December 10, 1954166, in Warsaw and Cecilia died there in January 197618.

| ii. | Madelyn Amelia Gallett | Madelyn was born April 21, 191318, and she died June 30, 1999 18. Madelyn married Elmer William Miller on March 10, 1934160, at St. Michael's in Warsaw. Elmer was born on August 6, 190818, the son of William C. Miller and Elsie Woodruff. He died on July 13, 2004 18. They had three children. |
