Jacob John Sailer was born on June 21, 1883, in Attica, New York234, the fifth child of Jacob Sailer and Magdalena Kreib. His early years were likely spent in Attica, New York, where his family lived until about 1890. By 1891, Jacob, Sr., and family had moved to Buffalo, where he opened a saloon203,204. In 1900, Jacob was living with his parents in Buffalo, and working as a hostler44.
On October 6, 190112, Jacob married Elizabeth Louise Schoenherr, at Buffalo, New York. Louise was born in November 1882, in Buffalo, the daughter of Richard Schoenherr and L. Harver12,44. Jacob and Louise settled in Buffalo, where their children were raised.. Jacob had a variety of jobs, including mill worker235, truck driver73 and bartender234.
At some time in the 1920's, Jacob and Louise separated, although both continued to live in Buffalo. In 1930, Louise was living on Elm Street, with all four of their children and a granddaughter229. The whereabouts of Jacob is unknown. Then, in 1939, the local newspaper carried the story of Jacob's death. On October 2, 1939, the rooming house on Genesee Street where Jacob lived was swept by fire237. Jacob, who lived on the fourth floor, was trapped in his room and burned to death. Louise continued to live in Buffalo in close association with her children.

iv. | Albert Carlton Sailer | Albert was born on March 19, 191318, and he died on June 4, 198618,34. Albert married (1) Lillian Elizabeth Kleinfelder, and (2) Elaine L. Crandall. |

Evelyn Sailer:

Evelyn Sailer, was about 1903235, in Buffalo, New York, the first child of Jacob Sailer and Louise Schoenherr. Evelyn grew up in Buffalo her family. In 1920, she was living with her parents on North Oak Street, and working as a box maker in a jewelry factory73. About 1921, Evelyn married Charles Burke and the couple had a daughter. However, by 1930, Evelyn and Charles had separated and Evelyn was living with her mother and brothers on Elm Street. She was still working as a box maker.
In the late 1930's, after her divorce from Charles, Evelyn married William Small229. William and Evelyn had one daughter. Evelyn died on February 1, 196340.
Harold Sailer:
Harold William Sailer was born on August 15, 190518, the second child of Jacob Sailer and Louise Schoenherr.  He grew up in Buffalo with his family. In 1920, Harold was living with his family on North Oak Street73, while in 1930, he was living with his mother and working as a chauffeur for a taxi company229. At some point, Harold acquired the nickname "Jockey", apparently from an association with horses40.
On June 19, 193840, Harold married Mary Giallella. Mary was born on March 3, 1902, the daughter of Peter Giallella and Mary Jane DiLeo40. Mary had two children from her previous marriage to Salvatore Dominico40. Harold adopted both children, who have carried on the Sailer tradition40. Harold and Mary continued to live in the Buffalo area. In 1948, they were living in Kenmore, New York, and Harold was working as a cabinet maker238. Mary died on December 30, 196440.
Following Mary's death, Harold married Edith A. Gillette and left the area, dropping all contact with his family. At some point, Harold and Edith moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where Harold died in January 197418.
Clarence Sailer:

Clarence F. Sailer was born on July 3, 190818, the third child of Jacob Sailer and Louise Schoenherr. He grew up in Buffalo with his family. In 1920, Clarence was living with his family on North Oak Street73, while in 1930, he was living with his mother and working as a chauffeur for a taxi company229. As an adult, Clarence changed the spelling of his surname to "Sailor", a spelling he used throughout his life239,240.
In the mid-1930's, Clarence married Susan ______. In 1938, they were living at 99 Imson Street in Buffalo, and Clarence was working as a laborer. However, by 1948, Clarence was living by himself, suggesting that he and Susan were separated. In 1967, Susan died in a trailer fire in Texas, along with one of their two children40. Clarence continued to live in Buffalo and, after the death of his first wife, he remarried to Catherine Sheehan40. On February 19, 1978, Clarence died of a heart attack at Hoover, New York240.
Albert Sailer:

Albert Carlton Sailer was born on March 19, 191340, the fourth child of Jacob Sailer and Louise Schoenherr. Albert grew up in Buffalo with his family. In 1920, his was living with his family on North Oak Street73, while in 1930, Albert was living with his mother and serving as an apprentice in the decorating business229. Albert went by the nickname "Mickey"40.
In the mid-1930's, Albert married Lillian Elizabeth Kleinfelder. Lillian was born on March 29, 1911, in Buffalo, the daughter of Charles Kleinfelder and Lillian Stevens40. Albert and Lillian settled in Buffalo. In 1938, they were living Neptune Street and Albert was working as an upholsterer for Charles A. Roty239. In 1948, they were living on Edna Place, and Albert was associated with Artz & Sailer, presumably an upholstery business238. About 1950, Albert and Lillian were divorced40. Lillian died in Buffalo on April 3, 1971. Albert and Lillian had two children.
About 1953, Albert remarried to Elaine L. Crandall40. Albert and Elaine continued to live in Buffalo, where he died on June 4, 198618. Elaine died in August 199218. They had no children.
