The earliest known ancestors of Anna Maria Klasen are found in the Church records at Lochweiler, which record the marriage of Matthias Klasen and Maria Clöser on January 13, 17464.  Their marriage record shows that Mathias was the son of Peter Clasen and that Maria was the daughter of Johann Clöser

Mathias came from the village of Wedern, which lies a few miles west of Lockweiler and just north of the district seat of Wadern.  After their marriage, Mathis and Maria settled in Krettnich, where they raised their family.  Mathias died in Krettnich on June 7, 1785
4, and Maria died there on November 13, 17694.

Mathias Klasen and Maria Clöser had the following children:


i. Johann Klasen Johann was baptized on December 8, 17494, and he died on July 6, 18024.  Johann married Maria Apollonia Wirschem.
ii. Michael Klasen Michael was baptized December 13, 17544.  He married Eva Blees.  They had a family of four children.
iii. Maria Klasen Maria was baptized on January 8, 17594, and she died on March 26, 17624.
iv. Matthias Klasen Matthias was baptized on August 9, 17624, and he died on December 10, 17644.


Following the death of his first wife, Mathias married Maria Meerfeld on July 24, 1770
4, the daughter of Nicolaus Meerfeld and Margaretha Schmidt.

Mathias Klasen and Maria Meerfeld had the following children:


i. Barbara Klasen Barbara was baptized on June 4, 17724.  She married Jokob Schmit.
ii. Anna Klasen Anna was baptized February 23, 17744, and died November 5, 18574.  She married Peter Finkler.  They had a family of three children.

Johann Klasen was baptized on December 8, 1749
4, the first child of Mathias Klasen and Maria Clöser, in the village of Krettnich.  On February 9, 1773, he married Maria Apollonia Wirschem, the daughter of Johann Peter Wirschem and Maria Kirsch.  Apoloonia was born on March 24, 18504.  Johann and Apollonia lived in Krettnich, where he died on July 6, 18024.  Apollonia deid on December 9, 18204.

The children of Johann and Apollonia are:


i. Michael Klasen Barbara was baptized on November 27 17734, and he died on August 9, 17744
ii. Gerturd Klasen Gertrud was baptized on June 2, 17754 and she died March 10,.18504.  Gertrud married Matthias Backes.  They had ten children.
iii. Katharina Klasen Katharina was baptized on March 27, 17774, and died March 14, 18374.  She married Nikolaus Collet.  They had a family of eleven children.
iv. Johann Klasen Johann was baptized on June 15, 17794, and died on October 30, 18254.  He married (1) Anna Maria Birtel and (2) Anna Maria Schnus.  Johann had eight children.
v. Peter Klasen Peter was baptized on February 26, 17814, and he died on November 10, 1832.  He married (1) Anna Maria Hardt and (2) Anna Barbara Schneider.  Peter had fourteen children.
vi. Anna Elisabeth Klasen Anna Elisaberh was baptized on July 17, 17834, and she died on September 8, 1846 4.  She married Nikolaus Kasper.  They had a family of eight children.
vii. Michael Klasen Michael was baptized on April 1, 17864, and he died on February 10, 18394.  He married Magdalena Klauck.  They had eight children.
viii. Matthias Klasen Matthias was baptized on January 13, 17894, and he died on April 5, 17924.
ix. Barbara Klasen Barbara was baptized on March 21, 17924, and she died January 19, 18354.  She married Johann Backes.  They had a family of nine children.
x. Nikolaus Klasen Nikolaus was born in 1798, and he died on October 27, 17984.

Peter Klasen was baptized on February 26, 1781,
4 the fifth child of Johann Klasen and Maria Apollonia Wirschem.  Note the early spelling of the Wirschem name; Wergen.  On February 9, 18074, Peter married Anna Maria Hardt, the daughter of Peter Hardt and Barbara Bezolt.  Anna Maria was born on March 26, 17834, at Nuhweilere.  The story of Anna Maria Hardt's ancestors, which is intimately tied to the history of Nuhweiler, is recounted in the link at the left.

Peter and Anna Maria settled in the tiny hamlet of Nuhweiler, apparently living on her families farm.  Their four children were all born in Nuhweiler, according to the church records.  However, Anna Maria died in Lockweiler on March 14, 1814
4, shortly after the birth of her last child.

The children of Peter and Anna Maria are:


i. Peter Klasen Peter was baptized on October 29, 18074, and he died on December 13, 1809.
ii. Anna Maria Klasen Anna Maria was born May 11, 18094, and she died on Octber 17, 18972.  Anna Maria married Peter Zehler.
iii. Peter Klasen Peter was baptized on August 2, 18104.
iv. Barbara Klasen Barbara was baptized on February 2, 18124.
v. Nikolaus Klasen Nikolaus was baptized on March 9, 18134, and he died on August 2 18134.


Following the death of his first wife, Peter married Anna Barbara Schneider.  Peter had nine additional children with Anna Barbara.
