Maria Cabahug was born about 18683,9, the first child of Maximino Cabahug and Fausta Barte, and grew up in Maguikay, Mandaue, where his mother had a store21. About 1900, Maria married Simon Cortes. Simon was born about 18733. Maria and Simon appear to have lived in Mandaue, however some of their children moved to Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur to join their cousins.
Maria died in 19309, and Simon died January 2, 19553.

| ii. | Honoria Cortes | Honoria was born December 30, 19053, and died on May 18, 19929. She remained unmarried. |
| iii. | Florentino Cortes | Florentino was born on June 30, 19079, and died on November 18, 19749. He married Estefania Masucol63. |
| iv. | Valentin Cortes | Valentin was born on November, 19113. Valentin married Cleope Apor |
| v. | Edilberta Cortes | Edilberta was born on March 1, 19133, and died on September 9, 19799. She married Jaime Gonzales. Jaime was born on January 3, 191920, and died in May 199120. |
