Sampling Room of Jacob Sailer

Sampling Room

Jacob Sailer's Sampling Room - about 1870

This picture shows the Sampling Room of Jacob Sailer, located on the corner of Elm Street and Burton Street in Buffalo40.  He opened the Sampling Room sometime around 1890.  Jacob Sailer is standing in the doorway, and the two boys flanking him are probably his sons.  Judging from their size they would be Edward (left) and Jacob, Jr. (right).  The young man to the left of the picture is likely Fred Zehler, Jacob's nephew, who was also living in Buffalo in the about 1892.
