The Family of Edward Sailer and Susan McConnell

Third Generation

Edward E. Sailer was born March 12, 1881232, in Attica, New York, the fourth child of Jacob Sailer and Magdalena Kreib.  His early years were likely spent in Attica, New York, where his family lived until about 1890.  By 1891, Jacob and family had moved to Buffalo, where he opened a saloon203,204.  In 1900, Edward was living with his parents in Buffalo, and working as a clerk in a grocery store44.

On June 19, 1902, Edward married Susan L. McConnell at Buffalo, New York12.  Susan was born on April 14, 1883230, at Buffalo, New York, the daughter of James McConnell and Mary T. DeLacy.  Edward and Susan lived in the Buffalo area throughout their lives.  In 1910, Edward and Susan were living on Washington Street in Buffalo, along with their second daughter72.  Edward worked as a carter and Susan was teaching piano.  By 1920, Edward and Susan had moved to Fourteenth Street; Edward was working as assistant manager of a coal yard and Susan continued to teach piano lessons183.  In 1930, Edward was an assistant supervisor in building construction and Susan was still offering piano lessons231.

Edward and Susan eventually moved to Kenmore, just north of Buffalo, where they lived the remainder of their lives.  Edward died there on October 18, 1954232, and Susan died there on February 13, 1956230.
