George James Sailer was born in December 187844, the third child of Jacob Sailer and Magdalena Kreib. His early years were likely spent in Attica, New York, where the family lived in 1880202. However, by 1891, Jacob and family had moved to Buffalo, New York, where he opened a saloon203,204. In 1900, George was living with his parents in Buffalo, and working as an Engineer44. However, by 1905, George had moved to the Borough of Manhattan, and was working as a Chauffeur221. Not only had George moved to New York City, he was married and had a child.
On June 8, 1903, George married Mary Duffy at the Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, on West 71st Street, New York City222. Mary was born about 1875, in Ireland, the daughter of James Duffy and Catherine ______. She came to the United States in 1893223, as an indentured servant. George and Mary both worked for J. Horace Harding, a prominent New York banker and businessman, and his wife Dorothea Barney. Mary was a maid in the Harding household and George was a chauffeur 40,224. In 1930225, George was still working as a chauffeur for Mrs. Harding, Horace Harding having died in 1929222.
After the death of Dorthea Harding in 1935222, George and Mary continued to live in New York City, at least until 1940262, where was working as a chauffeur. Subsequently, George moved to Holmdell, New Jersey as chauffeur for the Harding's daughter Laura40. Mary died during this period. After retirement, George moved to Fairlawn, New Jersey, to live with his daughter, Marion. George died there on September 17, 195440.

George Sailer, Jr.:
George James Sailer, Jr. was born on March 22, 1904 18, in New York City, the first child of George Sailer and Mary Duffy. He grew up in New York City, where he was living with his parents in 1930225. George was working as a salesman of surgical instruments, which at the time referred to cutlery. George married Dorothy Edith Deming, and they raised a family of two girls40. In 1940263, George and family were living in Stony Point, New York, with his father-in-law, Harry Deming. George was Proprietor of a retail hospital supply business. George died on October 17, 198818,40, in New Jersey.
Edward Sailer:
Jacob Edward Sailer was born on July 15, 190718, the third child of George Sailer and Mary Duffy. Known as Edward throughout his life, he grew up in New York City. In 1930225, he was living with his parents and working as a salesman of surgical instruments, as was his brother, George. On March 21, 1931, Edward married Margaret Stebbens at the Municipal Building in Manhattan222. Margaret was born on about 1910, at Cohoes, New York, the daughter of Arthur Stebbens and Marie Mulway222. Edward and Margaret continued to live in the City, along with two daughters. In 1940, Edward was proprietor of a surgical supply business and Margaret was a registered nurse at a private hospital262. Edward and Margaret had two children.
Edward died on June 18, 197018,40, and Margaret died in November 198440.
Marion Sailer:
Marion M. Sailer was born on October 3, 191018, the fourth child of George Sailer and Mary Duffy. She grew up in New York City, and was living with his parents in 1930225. On April 18, 1936, Marion married Joseph G. O'Sullivan at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Manhattan222. Joseph was born on January 11, 1911, in the Bronx, the son of Patrick O'Sullivan and Catherine Comer18,222.
Joseph and Marion initially lived in New York City, and in 1940, Joseph was a Broker in a brokerage house and Marion was a club secretary262. Joseph and Marion later moved to Rumson, New Jersey and then Fairlawn, New Jersey40. For the last fifteen years before their retirement, Joseph and Marion were employed by the Cornell Club of New York City; Joseph as the Club Manager40. After retirement in 1962, Joseph and Marion moved to Whiting, New Jersey, where they spent the last years of their lives. Joseph was a World War II Army Veteran226. Marion died at Whiting on December 24, 199818,227, and Joseph died on January 23, 1999 at Toms River, New Jersey18,226. They had no children.
