Susan Zehler was born on March 14, 18661, in Bennington, New York, the first child of Charles Zehler and Mary Backe. She grew up on the family farms in Bennington and Sheldon. As Susan approached adulthood, she went to Attica, New York, where she worked for a milliner making ladies hats40. Later, she worked as a maid for the Buxton family in Warsaw. It was in this capacity that she met George Buxton, whom she married on March 8, 188741, much to the family's displeasure. The Buxton family was well of and not happy with their son's choice. George was born in October 1855143, the son of Chauncey Buxton and Elizabeth ______.
George and Susan apparently settled in Warsaw, New York, where his parents had resided for many years. In 1900 they lived in a rented home at 260 Center Street, across from Susan's parents143. At the time, George worked as a fireman at an engine station. 1910144, found George and Susan living in the neighboring Town of Gainesville, where George was now working for a Salt Block company. By 1920145, George and Susan were able to purchase a house in Warsaw, at 154 Liberty Street. George was now working as a watchman for the Electric Company. George and Susan continued to live in Warsaw, where they raised a family of six children.
George died in 193640, and Susan died June 1, 19608.

iv. | Clarice L. Buxton | Clarice was born February 5, 190018, and she died in August 198318. Clarice married Leon Zimmer. |
v. | Elizabeth L. Buxton | Elizabeth was born February 19, 190318, and she died June 7, 200118. Elizabeth married Frederick "Fritz" Heintz, October 19, 1929, at Irondequoit, New York 40 . Fritz and Elizabeth had two children. |
vi. | Norine M. Buxton | Norine was born April 7, 190518, and she died July 17, 199318. Norine married Robert Craig. |
Bertha Buxton:
Bertha Buxton was born in December, 1888143, the first child of George Buxton and Susan Zehler. She grew up with her family in Warsaw, New York. On November 25, 1908149, Bertha married Edward Davidson, the son of Harlan Davidson and Anna Love. In the previous year, on August 16th, Bertha had given birth to a girl18, who apparently was the child of Edward40, and is treated so below.
Bertha and Edward did not get along and he left them, ending their marriage. Thus in 1910 Bertha and her two daughters were living with her parents144. Sometime, after 1910, Bertha married Clarence S. Gilbert. Clarence and Bertha continued to live in Warsaw, where Clarence worked as a laborer at the Electric Works144. The 1920 U.S. Census shows Clarence and Bertha with one daughter living in Warsaw. Bertha's younger daughter had apparently died by this time. Clarence is working as a molder in a factory. In 1930, Clarence Bertha and Violet were living in Batavia, New York and Clarence was still working as a molder151.
Bertha died in 1936, within the same week as her father40.

Ethel Marion Buxton was born July 18, 188941, the second child of George Buxton and Susan Zehler. She grew up with her family in Warsaw, New York. On March 14, 1908149, Ethel married Harry Truax, at Gainsville, New York. Harry was born March 11, 189040, the son of Charles Truax and Mary Jennie Gilbert. Harry and Ethel initially settled in Warsaw, New York, where Harry worked as a laborer in a machine shop144. However, by 1920, they had moved to Batavia, New York, where Harry continued to worked Machine Shop150. By 1930 he had advanced to be a superintendent85.
Harry Truax died on July 29, 194640, as a result of a tragic accident at work, and Ethel died in March 18, 198518,40.

Charles Buxton:
Charles C. Buxton was born July 24, 189840, the third child of George Buxton and Susan Zehler. He grew up with his family in Warsaw, New York. In 1920, Charles was living with Harry and Ethel Truax in Batavia and working as a machinist, perhaps in the same machine shop as his brother-in-law150. On December 20, 192040, Charles married Helen A. Knapp, at Batavia, New York. Helen was born February 13, 189718, the daughter of Clarence Elmer Knapp and Rose Loranda Southworth. Charles and Marion initially lived in Batavia, however, in 1930 they were living in Cheektowaga, New York, where Charles worked as railroad clerk152.
Charles died July 12, 196140, and Helen died January 12, 197818,40. They had two children.
Clarice Buxton:
Clarice L. Buxton was born February 5, 190018, the fourth child of George Buxton and Susan Zehler. She grew up with her family in Warsaw, New York. On August 1, 192840, Clarice married Leon Zimmer, at Batavia, New York. Leon was born December 26, 189718. Leon and Clarice initially lived in Batavia, where he worked as a core maker in an implement factory. They later moved to Springville, New York. Leon died in Springville in September 1968 and Clarice died there in August 1983.

Norine Buxton:
Norine M. Buxton was born April 7, 190518, the sixth child of George Buxton and Susan Zehler. Her early years were spent with her family. Beginning at age seven, however, she lived with her grandparents until the age of seventeen. In the early 20's, she began working for the telephone company and in 1930, she was living with her brother Charles in Cheektowaga, New York152. Norine continued to work for the telephone company until she married.
On July 22, 1938, Norine married Robert Craig, in Rochester, New York40. When Robert entered military service during WWII, Norine resumed her work with the telephone company. After the War, Robert worked for the Post Office and became Superintendent of Mails in Buffalo40. In 1950, Norine retired from the telephone company on disability, caused by extensive overtime during the War. Thereafter, she taught piano lessons40. Norine was trained in classical piano and took tap dance40. She enjoyed the arts and did oil painting40.
Norine died July 17, 1993 after a long bought with leukemia18. Robert and Norine had no children.
