Albert Faulring




Albert John Faulring was born on April 17, 18744, at Boston, New York, the third child of John Faulring and Mary Klein.  In 1892, Albert was on the farm of Nicholas Zimmerman in Boston, New York, probably working as a farmhand66.  Many of Albert's relatives lived in Boston, which probably attracted him to the area.

On November 19, 189620, Albert married Mary K. Miller, at Boston.  Mary was born in Germany, the daughter of George Miller and Magdalena Bender.  Unfortunately, this marriage only lasted a few years as Mary died on February 20, 189920, at the age of 23 years.

i. Alice M. Faulring Alice was born in July 189721, and she died on July 28, 190820.


The 1900 Census shows Albert and his daughter were living in Buffalo, New York21.  He is listed as a widower and his occupation is given as a farmer.  In 1905, Alice was living in Hamburg, New York with Edward and Louise Fuller and their family67.  Louise Fuller was Alice's aunt.  The whereabouts of Albert is unknown.  Then, on July 28, 190820, Alice died, at the age of 11 years.

On August 8, 190022, Albert married for a second time to Katherine Balser at Hamburg, New York.  Katherine was born about 1883, the daughter of Charles Balser and Maria Fuller22.  Again, this marriage ended after a short time, when Katherine died on July 14, 190420, at the age of 23.  Albert and Katherine had no children.

Jessie Faulring

On April 8, 19079, Albert married for a third time to Jessie Endress.  Jessie was born on September 12, 188219, daughter of Charles Endress and Emma Schlotzer.  This was Jessie's second marriage, as on February 19, 19029, she had married Henry Von Gerichten at North Boston, New York.  Henry was a resident of Hamburg, New York, whom Jessie likely knew from high school.  Henry and Jessie had one child, Milton, who born in 190319.  However, shortly after Milton's birth, Henry and Jessie were divorced and Henry left his wife and child69.  Milton grew up with Albert and Jessie, and became known by the Faulring name.  For Milton's story, use this Link

In 1910, Albert and Jessie were living in Hamburg, New York, with her son, Milton68.  At the time, Albert was working as an engineer for the Hamburg Water Company and served as its superintendent and general manager10 and Jessie was taking in dress making at home68.  In 1928, the Water Company was purchased by the Village of Hamburg and Albert found employment with the Hamburg Public School system in a similar capacity10, a job he retained until his retirement in 1948.

Albert died September 14, 195310, and Jessie died on February 5, 197119.

i. John Albert Faulring John was born on July 10, 191017, and he died on August 18, 199019.  John married (1) Gertrude Theon and (2) Merle Eunice Hake.
ii. Emma Louise Faulring Emma was born on May 2, 191519, and she died on January 9, 200119.  Emma married Meade C. Yarrington.

John Albert Faulring was born on July 7, 191019, the son of Albert Faulring and Jessie Endress.  He grew up with his family in Hamburg, New York.  In 1930, he was working as a boiler operator for General Electric in Hamburg74.

On June 2, 1931, John married Gertrude E. Theon, of Gowanda, New York75.  Gertrude was born about 1910, the daughter of John W. Theon and Beatrice Finis Hoffman.  A family member recalls that John and Gertrude divorced, but did not remember when69.

Finally, on July 2, 195169, John married Merle Eunice Hake.  Eunice was born on December 16, 192719, in Akron, New York, the daughter of Eugene Hake and Ruth Stage.  John and Eunice had one child.

John died on August 18, 199019, and Eunice died on August 4, 200619, at Batavia, New York.

i. John Albert Faulring, Jr. John was born on May 6, 195019, and he died on September 16, 200919.  John remained single.

Emma Faulring Yarrington

Emma Louise Faulring was born on May 2, 191519, the daughter of Albert Faulring and Jessie Endress.  A native of Hamburg, New York, Emma graduated from Hamburg High School, as class salutatorian, and then attended Albany State Teachers College and Bryant & Stratton Business Institute72.  Emma married Meade C. Yarrington.  Meade was born on May 17, 1911, and a native of Oneida, New York.  After graduating from high school at Sherrill, New York, he attended Cornell University73.

Meade initially worked as an employment counselor with the New York State Employment Service in Utica, New York73.  Then, in 1939, he joined Worthington Corporation's compressor and engine plant in Buffalo, New York, as Employment Manager73, beginning a 31 year career with the company.  In 1943, he became the plant's Personnel Manager and, in 1959, the Manager of Employee and Community Relations.  In 1963, Meade was transferred to Worthington's Turbine Division in Wellsville, New York, where he served as Manager of Employee and Public Relations.  Finally, Meade returned to the Buffalo plant in 1968, as a Personnel Consultant, prior to his retirement in 197073.

Emma also had an active career.  After finishing college, she worked in the Hamburg School District as a secretary72.  She then became a Deputy in the Erie County Sheriff's Department, focusing and the department's training academy and working in Central Police Services72.

Meade Yarrington on died June 21, 197219,73, and Emma on died January 9, 200119.  They raised a family of two girls.
